Object type and classification status

You can determine that the object type and classification status are displayed.

Objects with characteristics but no values

The objects that have no value assigned to characteristics do not appear in the search result.

If you select Objs with chars but no values, objects that have no assigned values are displayed.

This makes the search result longer, so response times will also be longer. For this reason, please check carefully whether you really need to set this indicator.

Locked / incomplete / released assignments

The standard settings for the search result display all objects with released classification. However, you can define user-specific settings to display objects with locked or incomplete classifications, too.

Maximum hits

In the search result, you see a list of the objects that match your search criteria, up to this number of objects. If more than this number of objects match your search criteria, start the search again and increase this number.

The default setting in the standard system is 100.

Sort ascending / sort by object type first / not sorted

You can define that objects are sorted according to object number or object description, that objects are sorted according to object type first, or that objects are in random order. You can also define your own strategies for sorting objects. See also: Settings in Search Results

Sorting by object key or description

You can define whether objects are sorted alphabetically according to object keys or object descriptions.

Default find string

If you want to use a character string to search in the Classification System (for example, all values that start with DA), you must select this indicator. You can only use a string search for characteristics that have data type character.

For example, enter DA* (asterisk) for your search. All words that start with DA are listed. See also: Defining the Comparison Type

Display class hierarchy

The hierarchy of the class you enter is displayed as an expanded structure tree. You can double-click a subordinate class to start searching for objects in subordinate classes. See also: Find Objects in Subordinate Classes
