User Management
SAP NetWeaver Portal relies on the user management functions of SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) Java as provided by the user management engine (UME). The portal provides access to these functions in the role User Administration.
More information: User Management of the Application Server Java.
The user management functions particular to the portal are described below.
The portal has its own role concept in addition to the UME role concept. Identity management, the user management tool of the AS Java, supports the assignment of portal roles to users and groups and also supports the assignment of UME actions to portal roles. However, there are important differences between the role concepts that affect user management.
