Process documentation Creating Training Material and Learning Maps  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Purpose

When new solutions and functions are implemented, the end users must be trained in the new functions which they will use. You generate learning maps for the end user tasks, e.g. for the new functions which the purchaser in your company will use, with the Solution Manager, from the existing project structure. A learning map is the structured table of contents of a computer-supported self-learning training course, which presents brief information about the learning units, and links to the training material, in HTML format. You can put E-Learning materials, e.g. SAP Tutors, in the self-learning courses.

Prerequisites

You have created a project structure in the Business Blueprint phase.

You have authorization for the transaction Configuration or the role Application Consultant or Project Leader.

Note

You can order a free, restricted SAPTutor licence under Goto Order SAP Tutor in the SOLUTION_MANAGER transaction.

Process Flow

...

       1.      Copy Roles for the user groups to which you later want to send the Learning Maps, e.g. purchaser or accountant, or create new roles, if required.

       2.      During the creation of a Business Blueprint and the realization phase, you assign training material to the structure elements, in your project, in the Business Blueprint and Configuration transactions, e.g. E-Learning material such as SAPTutors, presentations or test cases.

       3.      Assign these roles to the structure elements, in the transactions Business Blueprint and Configuration, to be able to filter the project structure by user groups (roles), for which specified training units are relevant.

       4.      After testing your project, create learning units from the project structure and its assigned learning material, and generate Learning Maps in HTML format for the user groups (roles) out of it, in the transaction Learning Maps Management.

       5.      Send a link to the learning map to the end user.

       6.      The end users work through the learning units on their own.

       7.      The end users assess the learning units and the learning map.

       8.      Analyze the end user assessments.

Result

You can download the learning map from the Solution Manager, to edit it with other tools, or publish it.
