Definition

A view index that displays information used to uniquely identify a service.

Use

You can use the General tab page to gather administrative information about a service and the corresponding application. This includes creation date, global unique identifier (GUID), technical identifier, and person responsible for creating the service. However, you can only edit the Description field.

Structure

The General tab page is available for all application, entity, and external services used and created in CAS. The individual properties of each tab page are listed in the tables below.

Unique name composed of vendor, package, and entity name

GUID

Global unique identifier. Unique key for identifying the service.

Description

Optional text used for describing the service.

Created By

Lists the user who created the service.

Created On

Displays the date and time the service was created.

Changed By

Lists which user has modified the service in use.

Changed Date

Displays the date and time service was modified.

 

Application Service

The general tab page of an application service uses the same properties as an entity service; however, it contains additional information, which is listed in the table below.

Remote Enabled Service

By activating this box, you allow the service to be exposed as a Web service outside of CAF. You must check this box before creating a new Web service from the application service you have modeled.

Web Services Enabled

This box will automatically be activated once you have created and deployed the Web service you created from an application service.
