Use

Before you call the shortage analysis for service parts planning (SPP), you must start a planning run in the Planning Service Manager (PSM) in SAP Supply Chain Management (SAP SCM). This provides the shortage analysis with up-to-date information.

To display the necessary information, the shortage analysis requires data from different applications and systems. This data includes:

·         Sales orders in SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM)

·         Supplier confirmations and ASNs in SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC)

·         Time series from the distribution requirements planning (for example, time series for the daily requirement) and forecast (for example, final monthly and historical time series)

Prerequisites

You have made the settings for the shortage analysis in the shortage monitor in Customizing for Supply Chain Planning under Service Parts Planning (SPP) Monitoring Shortage Analysis Make General Settings for Shortage Analysis and under Define Demand Frequency.

The system determines the corresponding values that are based on these settings during the PSM planning run. The values that are displayed in the shortage monitor after the planning run include the demand frequency, the number of critical and potentially critical products, and the number of old notes.
