Restricting the Number of Substitutions:
Example
A requirement of 100 pieces arises from a sales order. The availability check for the input location product determines a rule strategy. Evaluation of this rule strategy leads to the rules R1 and R2 in which substitute location products are defined. The following table lists the substitute location products and the quantities that the availability check could confirm:
Rule |
Location product and quantity that could be confirmed |
R1 |
L1/P1: 20 pieces L2/P1: 60 pieces |
R2 |
L1/P2: 50 pieces L1/P3: 30 pieces L2/P1: 10 pieces |
You have defined the following settings for the rule strategy in the Customizing of the availability check:
● Indicator Rule Strategy Defines Number of Substitutions is set.
● Number of substitutions Only One Substitution
● Entity Location
Based on these settings, the system confirms the following quantity for the following substitute location products:
L1/P1: 20 pieces
L1/P2: 50 pieces
L1/P3: 30 pieces
In this way, the requirement of 100 pieces is confirmed completely.
If you do not set the indicator Rule Strategy Defines Number of Substitutions in Customizing, the system considers the settings for the number and entity of substitutions that you have defined in integrated rule maintenance.
In integrated rule maintenance, you have defined the following settings for rules R1 and R2:
Rule R1 |
Rule R2 |
● Number of substitutions Only One Substitution ● Entity of substitution: Location product |
● Number of substitutions Only One Substitution ● Entity: Not Defined |
Confirmation Based on Rule R1
The system confirms a total of 80 pieces in the following substitute location products:
L1/P1: 20 pieces
L2/P1: 60 pieces
Confirmation Based on Rule R2
Only one substitution is allowed here also, for the entity from the previous rule, that is, for the substitution Location Product. In this way, the system confirms 10 pieces from the substitute location product L2/P1.
No Final Confirmation
