This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Planning Activities in Campaign Planning  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

This section illustrates which planning activities you can execute to react to which planning situations in campaign planning. The examples are based on the assumption that you plan your production campaigns interactively in the DS planning board.

Campaigns already exist in the DS planning board. The planning situation may have changed in the meantime. The requirement situation, for example, may have changed due to a new SNP planning run, or the planning needs to be adjusted due to confirmations from SAP R/3. You react to the changed situation.

Reacting to a New Requirement Situation

The following new requirement situations may arise:

·        Surplus because the existing requirement has decreased

èActivity:
You can delete planned orders and thus automatically remove them from the campaign. You proceed as follows:

...

                            a.      You identify the planned orders to be deleted.

                            b.      You double-click an order, and the order view appears. Here, you can delete the order by choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

The system deallocates these orders from the campaign. The campaign bar is adjusted accordingly.

·        Shortage because the existing requirement has increased or there are new requirements

è Activity:
You go to the campaign transaction and create new planned orders for the product with the shortage. You proceed as follows:

a.       You double-click the campaign to which you want to add the planned orders.

b.       You choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
A dialog box appears.

c.       You enter the product and its data as required, and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.
The system creates the planned orders and adds them to the campaign. In the DS planning board, the length of the campaign bar is adjusted by these new orders.

Reacting to Confirmations

When you have completed your planning in SAP APO and have started campaign processing in SAP R/3, confirmations are received in SAP R/3 that change the status and possibly the dates of the process orders. The confirmations are processed and visualized in the DS planning board. You may want to change the planning in SAP APO, for example, to adjust the capacity situation.

·        If production start was delayed

è Activity:
If the production of a campaign started later than planned, the capacity situation changes for the subsequent production charges. You can adjust the capacity situation by selecting the relevant resource in the DS planning board and choosing This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Reschedule.
The system updates the changed date of the operation affected and moves the operation into the future by the length of the delay. It also reschedules the subsequent operations of the order as well as the subsequent campaigns by moving them to the right on the DS planning board. However, we recommend manually correcting this automatic rescheduling to take side effects into account.

·        If production start was early

è Activity:
If the production of a campaign started earlier than planned, capacities that have been scheduled originally may become available again. The system updates the changed date of the operation affected and moves the operation bar backwards into the past by the period of time production was brought forward. The campaign bar gets longer.
You can manually reschedule the subsequent operations in the campaign to an earlier date. To do so, you select the operations and use Drag&Drop to move them to the date that has become available.

You can use the This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Reschedule function to close the gap resulting from this. The system adjusts the planning to the new situation by scheduling the subsequent campaigns at an earlier date.
