Function documentation Integration of Production Data Structures Generated from R/3 Master Data  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can use the production data structure generated from R/3 master data as a source of supply for in-house production in SAP SCM. In SAP SCM, you can only display and, if necessary, delete the production data structure (from R/3 data). You cannot change the data.

Prerequisites

A production version exists in SAP R/3 for end products that you want to plan in SAP SCM; a BOM is sufficient for phantom assemblies.

All materials, plants, and work centers used in the current BOMs or production versions must be included in an active integration model and have already been transferred to SAP SCM.

If you are working with configurable materials, you also need to have transferred classes and characteristics to SAP APO.

Features

During transfer of the master data from SAP R/3 via the Core Interface (CIF), the following data can be used to create a production data structure in SAP SCM:

Production version with routing and BOM

Production version based on a master recipe (as of SAP R/3 4.6B)

       BOM (for phantom assemblies)

When transferring the data, the systems sets the value for the plan explosion to 5 Production Data Structure Generated from R/3 in the location product master (tab page PP/DS) in SAP SCM.

You can also see the source of supply type in the production data structure display.

This setting allows SAP SCM to use the production data structure generated from R/3 data when planning the finished product in PP/DS.

The name of the production data structure as a source of supply consists of the name of the product, the plant, and the production version, and can be seen in the product view.

You can use the following BAdIs for creating and maintaining the data of the runtime object:

       In SAP R/3:

       CUSLNTRTO _ADDIN

For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Integration with Other SAP Components   Advanced Planning and Optimization Application-Specific Settings and Enhancements Enhancements for the Production Data Structure.

       In SAP SCM:

       /SAPAPO/CURTO_CREATE

You can use this BAdI to influence the explosion of the production data structure when creating orders.

For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under Advanced Planning and Optimization Master Data Production Data Structure (PDS) Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) for the Production Data Structure.

For more information about transferring and using production data structures, see SAP Note 709884 This graphic is explained in the accompanying textSAP Notes for Consultants: PDS and R/3 RTO, and the SAP Notes listed here in the SAP Service Marketplace.

Implement BAdI /SAPAPO/CULLCURTOEXPL to influence the explosion in SAP SCM when creating an order.

Activities

      Initial Data Transfer

Create an integration model for the generation of production data structures by selecting the production versions or BOMs (for phantom assemblies) you want to use, and then activate it.

Note

The production data structure from R/3 data is created automatically in the active planning version 000 in SAP APO during transfer.

For more information, see Create Integration Model for Transfer of R/3 Data.

      Change Transfer

See Change Transfer: Production Data Structure and Bill of Material.

      Automatic Change Transfer

You can also use BAdI CUSLNRTO_ADDIN to trigger an automatic change transfer for production data structures, as soon as the BOM, production version, routing, recipe, or relationship data is changed in SAP R/3.
