Demand Release
You release demand data after you have created forecasts and promotions in one of the following applications of SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC):
Statistical forecasting
Short-term forecasting
Collaborative sales forecasting
Promotion planning
You release the demand data to make them available to another application. You can release demand data from:
Statistical forecasting to collaborative sales forecasting
Statistical forecasting to short-term forecasting
Collaborative sales forecasting to short-term forecasting
Short-term forecasting to replenishment planning
Promotion planning to replenishment planning
You can release demand data in the following ways:
Manually on the SAP Easy Access
screen
Manually on the relevant SAP SNC Web screens
Automatically by using the demand service in a Planning Service Manager (PSM) run
If you want to release demand in a forecasting PSM run with the demand service, you must make the following settings:
You define a service profile for demand release in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
, by choosing
To release the demand data specified in your service profile, you set the Release Demand
indicator and specify your demand release service profile in the Release Demand
field.
You can release demand, forecast, or promotion data on the SAP Easy Access
screen, by choosing
You can release demand, forecast, or promotion data on the relevant Web screens. To release demand data, choose Release
on the Web screen.
You can release statistical forecast data to collaborative sales forecasting (CSF) or short-term forecasting. In the forecast master record (for more information, see Forecast Parameters), you must make the following settings:
If you want to run a consensus finding in CSF, you must stop statistical forecast data from disaggregating and transferring to short-term forecasting before a consensus finding has been run in CSF. To do this, you must set the Status
field in the Update
Forecast Master Record
web screen to G.
To release statistical forecast data directly to short-term forecasting, you must set the Status
field in the UpdateForecast Master Record
screen to F.
When you release statistical forecast data from statistical forecasting, the system uses the horizon that you have defined in your forecast profile. The horizon is defined in weeks. For more information, see Forecast Profile.
You can release consensus forecast data to short-term forecasting. SAP SNC uses the release horizon defined in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
, under when releasing the data. When releasing consensus forecast data that is based on weekly buckets to short-term forecasting, SAP SNC disaggregates the quantity of the weekly bucket to daily buckets. For

You can release demand data to replenishment planning. When you release demand data from short-term forecasting to replenishment planning, the system uses the release horizons displayed in the Short-Term Forecast Parameters
screen. You define the horizon in the Forecast
Periods
field. The horizon is defined in weeks. for more information about replenishment planning, see Replenishment Planning.
You can release promotion data to replenishment planning. When you release promotion data from promotion planning, the system only releases the selected promotion. The system uses the release horizon specified for that promotion.
The demand service (planning service VMIFORECAST
) can also release data in a PSM run.
If the demand service is to release demand data, you must make the following settings:
You define a service profile for demand release in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration
, by choosing .
In the service profile for the demand service, you make the following settings:
You enter the demand release profile that the demand service should use.
You set the Release Demand
indicator.
