Determination of a Multi-Item Single Delivery Location
This process describes how the rules-based ATP check determines a multi-item single delivery location (MISL).
You made the settings for the MISL.
You call the Global ATP in SAP APO from the OLTP system using a requirements grouping, such as a delivery group.
The system checks the Customizing settings for MISL to see if there is an entry for the business transaction, for which you have also determined the characteristic value. If there is no such entry with a characteristic value, the system sets the characteristic value to initial and then searches for an entry for the business transaction and an initial characteristic value.
The system checks if you have set the Multi-Item Single Delivery Location indicator for this entry.
The system uses the rule strategy you entered to determine a rule of type Multi-Item Single Delivery Location and therefore a substitute location.
Note
To influence or change how the system determines the list of substitute locations, use the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/ATP_LPDG_LST. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SAP SCM under .
The system checks if all the products in the requirements grouping appear in the substitute locations. If a product does not appear in a substitute location, the system removes this substitute location from the list.
The system performs a rules-based availability check, and determines at least one inclusive rule. The system substitutes the list of substitute locations from the inclusive rules with current substitute location from the list of the rule of type Multi-Item Single Delivery Location.
The system checks if it can completely confirm the requirements for all items in the requirements grouping at the first substitute location. If the system comes across a requirement that cannot be completely confirmed at this location, the system rejects all previous results for this requirements grouping and checks the availability at the next substitute location in the list. The system performs this process iteratively until all of the requirements in the grouping for a substitute location can be confirmed.
Note
To find out if the requirement in the requirements grouping for the substitute location that the system just checked was completely confirmed, use the BAdI /SAPAPO/ATP_LPDG_SAT. For more information, see the IMG for SAP SCM under ..
If the requirements cannot be completely confirmed at any substitute location, the subsequent process depends on the value of the field Action After MISL in the integrated rule maintenance.
No Further Action (Unconfirmed Sales Order)
The system terminates the ATP check. The requirements grouping does not receive a confirmation.
Switch Off Preselection, Continue with Rules-Based ATP
The system performs a further rules-based ATP check and no longer tries to confirm the requirements in the requirements grouping at one substitute location.
