Use

The shelf life function in Supply Network Planning (SNP) is integrated with SAP ERP, Demand Planning (DP) and Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS). This means that the shelf life data of certain order types is transferred between SNP and these components.

Prerequisites

You have checked that the Plng with Shelf Life indicator on the Properties tab page of the product master data is set. The system sets this indicator automatically when transferring product master data with shelf life from SAP ERP.

Features

Forecasts

When forecasts are released from DP to SNP, the minimum and maximum required shelf life of the forecasts is set to the values maintained in the product master data. To set shelf life requirements different from those of the product master data, you implement method CHANGE_RELDATA of Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/SDP_RELDATA.

Stocks

To transfer shelf life data of stocks from SAP ERP to SAP SCM, you must include the relevant classes, characteristics and batches in the integration model. For more information, see SAP note 751392.

Sales Orders

When sales orders are transferred from SAP ERP to SAP SCM, they can carry shelf life requirements if an appropriate batch search strategy is assigned to the sales order. For more information, see SAP notes 391018 and 483576.

Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders

Remaining shelf life data of purchase requisitions and purchase orders is transferred from SAP ERP to SAP SCM. For more information, see SAP note 1072022.

SNP Orders

Remaining shelf life data of SNP stock transfers (with or without source location) is transferred from SNP to SAP ERP. For more information, see SAP note 1072022.

When SNP stock transfers (with or without source location) and SNP planned orders are converted to PP/DS orders the system keeps data related to shelf life.
