Quantity Conversion for Different Base Units of Measure 

Use

This function converts the quantity of an input product when the base unit of measure of the input product differs from the base unit of measure of the substitute product.

Prerequisites

To enable the system to perform such a quantity conversion, you have defined the base unit of measure, and if required, the alternative unit of measure (if SAP ERP Core Component (SAP ECC) is the sales unit , this is the OLTP system) with conversion factors for the input and substitute product in one of the following places:

●      In SAP APO master data

●      In the OLTP system

You have transferred this data to SAP SCM using APO Core Interface.

At least of one the following prerequisites must also be met:

●      The base unit of measure of the input product can be directly converted into the base unit of measure of the substitute product. Base units of measure that can be directly converted are, for example, centimeter and meter. Base units of measure that cannot be directly converted are, for example, liter and meter.

●      You have defined the same alternative units of measure for the input and substitute products.

●      You have defined the base unit of measure for one product as the alternative unit of measure for another product.
