Tasks are operations to be performed by someone, to certain specifications and completion criteria, at specified times.

The applications in the Solution Manager that use tasks are:

  • Issue and Top Issue Management

  • Change Request Management

  • Central System Administration

  • Downtime Management

  • Job Scheduling Management

You use Task Management to handle tasks in these applications, from a single point of access, to save time and avoid unnecessary maintenance across applications. You can only create new tasks in their applications or you can create application-independent ad-hoc tasks in the Task Management. For more information, see SAP Note 1245491.
