The different synchronization and recovery processes are performed using three systems: the client, the MI server, and the back-end system. Under certain circumstances, it is not possible to execute some of the processes. This is the case, for example, during system downtime. In this case, a backup is essential. For more information on backups, see the documentation for the back-up system.

When all the systems are working again, it may be necessary to perform additional steps to recover the data and ensure its consistency. The following system error scenarios describe the steps to be performed depending on the situation at hand:

      Temporary Unavailability of Back Ends

      Temporary Unavailability of MI Serversa

Incomplete Recovery of Back End sa

      Incomplete Recovery of MI Serversa

Caution

The above applies to Smart Synchronization applications based on Mobile Infrastructure as of Release 2.5. For generic synchronization applications running on Mobile Infrastructure as of Release 2.5, the scenarios described do not apply as no business data is stored on the MI server.
However, if you assign applications during an incomplete MI server recovery, you must reassign these applications.
