Managing the Selected Systems

1. Choose System Management → Administration.
2. From the detailed navigation on the left, select Systems. A list of the instances you selected when defining your system selection appears in a tree view.
3. Expand the tree of a selected instance and choose the blue square next to the system name to administer this system. When a Java instance is selected, the Start, Stop and Restart options on the top are activated. Use them to start, stop or restart the whole instance at once. A Details pane also appears below the SAP Systems pane, where you can see the details of the selected instance, and manage the separate J2EE processes and services. A description of the available tasks in this pane follows:

Provides general information about the selected instance. |
SAP Processes |
Lists the ABAP work processes on this instance along with their description, process ID, status (running or stopped), start time, and elapsed time. Use the blue square in front of each process to select it. When you have selected a process, you can use the buttons above the list with processes and start, stop or restart the selected process. You can also enable or disable debugging on this process. |
J2EE Processes |
Lists the J2EE processes on this instance along with their type (for example, J2EE Dispatcher, J2EE Server, and so on), process ID, status (running or stopped), as well as whether the particular node has activated debugging or not. Use the blue square in front of each process to select it. When you have selected a process, you can use the buttons above the list with processes and start, stop or restart the selected process. You can also enable or disable debugging on this process. |
Services |
Provides a list with the services available on the selected instance along with their status (running or stopped). Use the blue square in front of each service to select it. You can then use the buttons above the list to start, stop or restart the selected service. |
