Monitoring Unbounded Processes
Purpose
Using this IT process, you can monitor message processing, including throughput and performance. You can also monitor the operation of the Business Process Engine and the business objects of your applications.
The non-SAP integration server and product portfolio offers additional monitoring tools and information. For more information about the relevant product documentation of either IBM WBI or Microsoft BizTalk, see their official documentation.

Prerequisites
This process requires that message processing is functioning.
In addition, you must first define and configure the integration processes that you want to monitor.
Process Flow
The following IT process runs in PI:

1. You use the Integration Engine monitoring or the Runtime Workbench to monitor message processing.
2. You can use the monitoring functions of the Business Process Engine to monitor the integration processes involved.
3. You use the Runtime Workbench to monitor performance and message throughput.
4. You use the SAP Solution Manager to monitor the business objects of your applications.
Result
You can see the effects of message processing on your business objects.
