Adaptive Computing
A number of tasks are involved in the management of your Adaptive Computing Controller (ACC) in anSAP environment.
Adaptive Computing is only supported by using Adaptive Computing Controller
1.0 only running on SAP NetWeaver Release 7.0 (see SAP Note 725397) which of course can adaptively
control all releases from SAP R/3 4.6C up to SAP NetWeaver 7.0.
If you are new to the Adaptive Computing Controller, refer to the section Getting Started in the Adaptive Computing Implementation Guide. To access this guide, go to service.sap.com/instguides and choose SAP Components → Adaptive Computing Controller.
If you want to know how the Adaptive Computing Controller is integrated in the landscape, refer to the Adaptive Computing Implementation Guide. To access this guide, go to service.sap.com/instguides and choose SAP Components → Adaptive Computing Controller.
The table below shows the ACC configuration and operation tasks that you need to perform when required:

When a system error occurs, you need to check the default trace file of the J2EE Engine. If the detail degree of the written information is not sufficient, you can change the severity level of the information written into the trace file. |

If you want to have own trace files for the Adaptive Computing controller logs, you can change the destination of the trace files. Then the information is not written anymore in the default trace file of the engine. Instead, the information is written into an own Adaptive Computing trace file in a subdirectory. |

Troubleshooting
The following problems are the most common when operating the ACC:
· ACC does not show hosts as active in the physical landscape
For more information, refer to the section Adaptive hosts are not shown as active in the ACC in the Adaptive Computing Implementation Guide. To access this guide, go to
service.sap.com/instguides and choose SAP Components → Adaptive Computing Controller.
· Start of the service failed
For more information, refer to the section Reset of the service status in case of failures in the Adaptive Computing Implementation Guide. To access this guide, go to service.sap.com/instguides and choose SAP Components → Adaptive Computing Controller.
· Hanging locks
For more information, refer to the section Hanging locks in the Adaptive Computing Implementation Guide. To access this guide, go to
service.sap.com/instguides and choose SAP Components → Adaptive Computing Controller.
· In the case of other problems, check ACC logging.
For more information, see Controller Log. To access this information, go to: help.sap.com and choose Documentation → SAP NetWeaver → Adaptive Computing Controller 1.0, navigate to Adaptive Computing Controller Main Window → Controller Log.
