 Scheduling Schemas for SAP SNC

For the scheduling of order documents (such as for planned replenishment orders, replenishment orders, and advanced shipping notifications), SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) uses configurable process scheduling . For the scheduling, different scheduling schemas are available that consider different delivery-relevant activities on the supplier side and customer side:

Scheduling Schema PLANNING

This scheduling schema considers the following activities:

Goods Issue

In this phase, the supplier issues the goods.

Shipment

This phase represents the shipment from the ship-from location to the customer location.

Goods Receipt

In this phase, the customer receives the goods. This phase ends with the availability date at the customer location.

You use this schema in collaboration with suppliers, such as in the SMI scenario.

On the left side of the graphic, you see the time axis containing the start and end dates of the different activities. On the right side of the graphic, you see the time axis containing the dates that the scheduling calculates if not all these dates are contained in the order document.

The following table contains the descriptions of the dates and abbreviations used in the graphic. The "Calculation" column displays how the scheduling calculates a derived date.

Scheduling Schema VMIPLANNING

Similar to the PLANNING schema, this schema considers the goods receipt and the transport, but views the activities on the supplier side in a different way. This schema considers the following activities on the supplier side:

Order Processing

In this phase, the supplier creates a sales order from a replenishment order (by publishing the replenishment order).

Transportation Planning

In this phase, the supplier conducts transportation planning for the sales orders.

Preparation (Picking and Packing)

In this phase, the supplier picks and packs the products for shipping to the customer location.

Loading

In this phase, the supplier loads the products onto the means of transport.

Then the transport occurs, and finally, the goods receipt at the customer (see above).

You use this schema in collaboration with customers, such as in the Responsive Replenishment scenario.

On the time axis on the left side of the graphic, you see the start and end dates of the different activities. On the time axis on the right side of the graphic, you see the dates that the scheduling calculates if not all these dates are contained in the order document.

Scheduling Schema WORKORDER

To schedule the phases and breaks between phases in a work order, the system uses the scheduling schema WORKORDER. For more information, see Creation of Work Orders .

Standard Settings

In the standard, the system uses the scheduling schema PLANNING. For the Responsive Replenishment business scenario, you have to configure the VMIPLANNING scheduling schema. For more information, see Scheduling .
