Procedure documentationDefining Time Buckets Profiles (Enhanced User Interface)

This procedure is relevant for the following monitors on the Web UI for SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC):

  • Replenishment monitors

  • Order Forecast Monitor

  • SNI Monitor

In this procedure, you define a time buckets profile and assign it to the location product, to determine the display horizon and period division of the display horizon for a location product in the monitor. You can also assign the time buckets profile to several location products.

Note Note

You can only assign a time buckets profile to the products in your locations. The locations must, therefore, be assigned to the business partner to which you are assigned.

End of the note.

The monitor overview displays a column for each of the first periods of the planning time period. This is the default setting, which is overridden by the layout settings you make for the personal object worklists.

In a time buckets profile, you determine the number of periods (starting with the beginning of the planning time period) for which the monitor overview has color code in the status columns.

Features
  • More fields are available in the selection area.

  • There is an overview of the time buckets profiles defined.

  • You can assign a time buckets profile to multiple location products. Assignment is possible on product and on location level as well.

There is a default profile, which is valid for all location products. For a location product that has a specific profile, the specific profile overrides the default profile. In case a new location product meets the profile assignment criteria, the profile is automatically applied to the location product.

    Note Note

To be able to assign a time buckets profile to multiple location products, you must implement the /SCA/TLDASSN Business Add-In (BAdI).

    End of the note.
  • Profiles can be copied to other assignments.

  • Time buckets profiles are visualized by a bar chart.

For information on the availability of the enhanced UI for time buckets profiles, see SAP Note 1861837Information published on SAP site.

Procedure

Creating a Time Buckets Profile
  1. Call time buckets profile processing and assignment under Time Buckets Profiles. To do so, you have the following options:

    • In a monitor, choose the Time Buckets Profile pushbutton on the Product Data tab page (Details view) or in the Product Data section (Details-Product View view)

    • In the Web application menu of the monitor, choose the Time Buckets Profiles menu option.

    Choose Change, then Create.

  2. To determine the total duration of the planning horizon, choose a period type in the Horizon field, and enter the desired number of periods.

    Note Note

You can specify data only at and below the level of the display horizon unit. For example, if you define 6 months as the display horizon, you cannot enter data in the Years in Months field.

    End of the note.
  3. Specify the period division of the planning horizon as follows:

    • In case you want to define a long-term horizon for displaying the data in the monitors, choose Years and enter the number of years.

You can check when the display horizon ends by having a look at the date displayed in the In Years Until field.

    • In case you want to break down the first part of the year-level display horizon into months, enter the number of the months you want month-level data for in the Years in Months field.

You can check until when the data is displayed on a monthly level by having a look at the date displayed in the In Months Until field.

    • In case you want to break down the first part of the monthly level display horizon into weeks, enter the number of the weeks you want week-level data for in the Months in Weeks field.

You can check until when the data is displayed on a weekly level by having a look at the date displayed in the In Weeks Until field.

    • In case you want to break down the first part of the weekly level display horizon into days, enter the number of the days you want daily level data for in the Weeks in Days field.

You can check until when the data is displayed on a daily level by having a look at the date displayed in the In Days Until field.

    • In case you want to break down the first part of the daily level planning horizon into subdaily periods, enter the number of the periods you want period-level data for in the Days in Periods field.

  4. You can specify that the display horizon starts in the future or in the past and not with the current period. To do so, under Offset, enter a positive or negative number of days by which you want to shift the start of the display horizon.

  5. By entering a value in the Overview Status Cols (Overview Status Columns) field, you specify the number of periods for which the monitor overview has color code in the status columns.

Editing Time Buckets Profiles and Their Assignments to Location Products
  1. Call time buckets profile processing and assignment under Time Buckets Profiles.

  2. Enter your selection criteria, then choose Go.

  3. Select the profile you want to edit, and choose Change.

  4. You change the profile-relevant data in the Profile Details screen area.

    Note Note

You cannot change the assignment-relevant data (customer location and product) in the profiles table. Instead, copy the profile with the old location product assignment, edit the copied data, then delete the profile with the old assignment.

    End of the note.
  5. Save your changes.

Copying Time Buckets Profiles

Note Note

To be able to assign a time buckets profile to multiple location products (technically, to create a time buckets profile with the Customer Location and Product fields left empty), you need to implement the /SCA/TLDASSN BAdI. Depending on whether you implement the BAdI or not, copying a time buckets profile works differently.

End of the note.
Business Add-In /SCA/TLDASSN Implemented
  1. Call time buckets profile processing and assignment under Time Buckets Profiles.

  2. Enter your selection criteria, then choose Go.

  3. Select the profile you want to copy, and choose Copy.

You can also overwrite existing profiles with copying.

To do so, first select the profile you want to copy, then select the profiles you want to overwrite by pressing CTRL and selecting the profiles. Choose Copy. Profile details of the target profiles are overwritten, but profile assignments remain unchanged.

  4. Save your changes.

Business Add-In /SCA/TLDASSN Not Implemented
  1. Call time buckets profile processing and assignment under Time Buckets Profiles.

  2. Enter your selection criteria, then choose Go.

  3. Select the profile you want to copy (in this case, the profile is assigned to exactly one location product), and choose Copy. You can copy the selected profile:

    • To all your locations for the product

    • To all products in your location

    • To all products in all your locations

You can also overwrite existing profiles with copying.

To do so, first select the profile you want to copy, then select the profiles you want to overwrite by pressing CTRL and selecting the profiles. Choose Copy. Profile details of the target profiles are overwritten, but profile assignments remain unchanged.

  4. Save your changes.

Result

The replenishment monitors, the order forecast monitor, and the SNI monitor display as many overview status columns as many you have defined in the time buckets profile valid for the location product.

The overview status columns correspond to the periods of the display horizon, which you have defined in the time buckets profile.

Example

You have implemented the /SCA/TLDASSN BAdI, and you have defined the following profile:

Field

Example Value

Customer Location

TGX1

Product

(empty)

Display Horizon

Months / 6

Years in Months

(inactive)

Months in Weeks

2

Weeks in Days

1

Days in Periods

0

Start Offset

1

Overview Status Columns

8

This profile is valid for all products in location TGX1.

The display horizon is overall 6 months long, starting tomorrow (as defined in Start Offset).

The system displays the data of the first week in daily breakdown (Weeks in Days). The data of the first two months – beginning with the second week, as the first week is displayed in daily breakdown – is displayed in weekly breakdown. The data for the rest of the planning horizon – in this case, 4 months – is displayed in monthly breakdown.
