Background documentation Setting Up the Development Landscape: Landscape Configurator  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

You use the Landscape Configurator to perform the following actions:

      Configuring a Domain

      Creating a Development Track

      Creating a Single System Track

      Creating an XI Track

      Editing a Track

      Editing Dependencies Between Software Components

      Deleting a Track

      Connecting Tracks

The transport landscape of a CMS transport infrastructure is always in a domain. This domain contains one or more tracks in which you develop software components and transport the versions of these components.

Overview of the Configuration Process for a Ready-to-Use Development Environment

To configure a complete NWDI for the development process, the following steps are required:

...

       1.      Create a product and software component in System Landscape Directory (SLD). Define the build dependencies required for JEE development on the following software components (see Defining and Removing Software Dependencies:

       SAP_BUILDT

       SAP_JTECHS

       SAP-JEE

       2.      Include the new software component in NWDI (see Updating CMS).

       3.      Create a development track for the development of the new software component (see also Creating a Development Track)

       4.      Then check the software component archives (SCAs) required for the build into the Transport Studio (see also Checking In Software Component Archives).

       5.      Import these SCAs into the Development and Consolidation systems. By doing this, you provide Component Build Service (CBS) with the required build environment for central builds (see also Imports).

       6.      Import the development configuration in NetWeaver Developer Studio (NWDS) and commence development.
