Runtime Information
P4 Provider Service provides runtime information about the active connections to the client and the server broker objects. It also provides information about the remote objects that are registered by the corresponding broker object.
Runtime information about the client broker object of the Visual Administrator is provided in the LOCAL BROKER pane, and about the broker object of the server process it has connected to in the REMOTE BROKER pane.
You can view information about the active connections to a broker object in the Info tab of the corresponding pane. The information includes the following details about the connections:
· The transport layer that is used for that connection.
· The hostname (or IP address) and the port of the remote host.
· The ID of the connection.
You can view information about the remote objects that are registered by the corresponding broker in the Objects tab of the corresponding pane. They are listed in a table. The following information is displayed about each remote object:
· The name of the object.
· The number of links that are established to this object.
· Additional information about the package the class belongs to, the interfaces it implements, and so on. This information is displayed in a small window at the bottom part of the pane.
· To be able to see runtime information about active P4 connections and remote objects, you have to use the Visual Administrator tool. You must access the Runtime screen of P4 Provider Service running on a server process.
· In addition, you can select a connection in the list of connections for the corresponding broker and ping it to determine whether it is still active. You ping a connection by choosing the corresponding PING button.
· You can also refresh the tables of active connections and remote objects if you choose the REFRESH button. This way, any connection or remote object that is currently inactive is removed from the table.
