Use

The Message Info service is the interface between the J2EE Engine and the Message Server. You use it to monitor and administrate the Message Server.

Integration

The Message Info service communicates with the Message Server via the Cluster Manager. The Cluster Manager has a direct connection to the Message Server.

Prerequisites

The Message Info service is not automatically started when the J2EE Engine is started. If you want to use the Message Info service, you have to start it manually:

1.       Start the Visual Administrator.

2.       Choose Cluster Server 0 Services.

3.       Choose Message Info.

4.       Choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text (Start Service) in the toolbar.

Features

In the Runtime tab of the Message Info service in the Visual Administrator, you can display or change the following properties:

·        IDs: Here the Hardware Key and the three-letter system ID (SID) are displayed. These are required for installing the SAP Licenses.

·        Information: The release of the Message Server is displayed here (see Message Server Monitor).

·        Parameters: The relevant profile parameters for the Message Server and other settings are displayed here. Some of them are described in Message Server Parameters.

·        Statistics: Here you can Activate, Refresh, Reset and Deactivate the statistics for the Message Server activities. If the statistics are active, you will get the following details from the Message Server:

¡        Number of bytes written and read

¡        Number of clients logged on (dispatchers and server processes)

¡        Number of requests received by the message server

·        Client Stat.: Here you can activate the client statistics.

·        Service Info: Displays a list of J2EE Engine components that are registered as listeners to the Message Server.

·        Trace Level: Here you can set the trace level for the trace file of the Message Server, which is called dev_ms.
