Procedure documentation Adding Log Files  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

When you start the Integrated or the Standalone Log Viewer, all logs that are registered on the J2EE Engine and on the Standalone Log Viewer server respectively are automatically displayed in the overview of logs pane on the left. Use this procedure to add other log files of any type and format that is supported by the Log Viewer.

Prerequisites

The paths to all logs you want to add must be specified in the Logviewer_MonitorablePath property in the Log Viewer service and, for the Standalone Log Viewer, in the /usr/sap/<SID>/JC<Instance number>/j2ee/admin/logviewer-standalone/server/LogViewerServer.properties file. Procedure

       1.      In the pane on the left, select the node on which the log file exists, and choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Add a file.

       2.      In the Add a file to monitor dialog box, browse to the log file you want to add, select the type and format of the log file, and choose Add.

The log file is added at the end of the tree.

       3.      To refresh the node, sort the log file and display it correctly in the tree structure, choose This graphic is explained in the accompanying text Refresh overview of logs.

       4.      To display the log records from the log file, double-click the log file.

The log records are displayed in a table in the pane on the right.
