Modifying Manager or Service Properties 

Use

This procedure enables you to change a particular service or manager properties, which are displayed with their keys and values in the right-hand tab of the frame when selecting a service or manager.

The properties are divided into two sections:

·        Global properties

Contain global configuration settings for a particular manager or service, valid on all cluster elements. These properties contain custom and default values, which cannot be changed. If you try to set a new value for one of these properties, then this property is added to the Local properties list.

·        Local properties

During installation time some of the global properties are changed and configured for each cluster element that is created. Changing the global properties enables you to create local settings for a particular cluster element. The local properties also contain custom and default values. The default values come with the installation of the J2EE system and cannot be changed as the custom settings are obtained through changing the default global properties or adding new properties.

Procedure

From the tree structure on the left-hand side, select a manager or service for which you want to modify the properties.

If You Want To	Then
Change a global property value and make it local for a manager or service of a particular cluster element	...        1.      Select the property from the Global properties table        2.      Enter new value in Value        3.      Choose Set
Change the default local property value and make it custom	...        1.      Select the property from the Local properties table        2.      Enter new value in Value        3.      Choose Set
Remove a local property	... Select a property from the Local properties list and choose Restore to global. In that way, the value of the local property is restored to the default value of the global property.
Restore a custom value	Select a property from the Local properties list and choose Restore to default. In that way the custom value of the local property is restored to its default value.
Restore all custom values	Select a property from the Local properties list and choose Restore all to default.
Change the Startup mode of a service This property is available for services only.	Select an option from the Startup mode drop-down menu.
