Execution of “Generate Phase-Out
Profile” Planning Service
In the Generate Phase-Out Profile planning service the system creates a phase-out profile for the selected location products.
...
1. The system checks all location products and excludes location products that meet the following criteria from planning:
¡ You have not assigned a phase-out group to the location product.
¡ You have not defined a production end date for the location product.
¡ The product only has historical data for less than a year after the planning date.
¡ The location was the predecessor or successor product of another product in a supersession process after the production end date.
¡ You have considered the location product in a sales promotion after the production end date, and as a result have specified a promotion start and a promotion end date.
2. The system creates a phase-out profile and in doing so considers the following values that you have specified in Customizing for Advanced Planning and Optimization under Supply Chain Planning → Service Parts Planning → Forecasting → Define Phase-Out Group.
¡ Length of the phase-out profile
¡ Minimum number of location products that must be available to generate a phase-out profile
¡ Minimum percentage that the phase-out profile cannot fall below
If the phase-out forecast calculates values that lie below this percentage, the system takes the percentage you defined as these values.

In the Minimum Value (%) field you have specified the value 10 as the percentage that the system cannot fall below. For the seventh year in the future, the system calculates a percentage of five percent. In this case, the system takes the 10 percent that you defined in the phase-out profile for all years from the seventh.
