Procedure

  1. In the Object Manager panel, under the Detail section, choose the Assigned Objects tab.

  2. In the Assigned Objects tab page that appears, choose Expression object from the Type field and choose Create Object.

  3. In the Object Creation dialog box that appears, enter the following data:

    • Name

    • Short Text

    • Text

  4. Choose Rule from the Type field and choose Create & Navigate to Object.

    The newly created rule opens in the Object Manager panel.

    Note Note

    If you choose Create button, the created rule object appears under the Assigned Objects tab.

  5. Assign a condition to the rule.

    You can assign a new expression or an existing expression as a condition.

    In the Detail section,

    • Create a New Expression

      1. Choose Graphical Access (Graphical Access) next to No expression assigned.

      2. In the context menu, choose Create Expression....

      3. In the Object Creation dialog box that appears, create the expression.

    • Select an Existing Expression

      1. Choose Graphical Access (Graphical Access) next to No expression assigned.

      2. In the context menu, choose   Select Expression   Select Expression...  .

      3. In the Object Query dialog that appears, select the data object and choose Select.

        Note Note

        The condition should be an a context data object or a nested expression whose value or result can be converted into a Boolean type.

  6. Assign actions to the rule.

    Depending on the result of the condition, a true action or a false action is processed. If the condition is satisfied, a true action is processed.

    • Assign True Action

      You can either choose an existing action or create a new action.

      Select an Existing Action

      1. Choose Graphical Access (Graphical Access) next to then perform No action assigned.

      2. In the context menu, choose Select True Action....

      3. In the Object Query dialog that appears, select the action and choose Select.

      Create a New Action

      1. Choose Graphical Access (Graphical Access) next to then perform No action assigned.

      2. In the context menu, choose Create True Action...

      3. In the Object Creation dialog box that appears, create the action.

    • Assign False Action

      Select an Existing Action

      1. Choose Graphical Access (Graphical Access) next to Otherwise perform No action assigned.

      2. In the context menu, choose Select False Action....

      3. In the Object Query dialog that appears, select the action and choose Select.

      Create a New Action

      1. Choose Graphical Access (Graphical Access) next to Otherwise perform No action assigned.

      2. In the context menu, Create False Action....

      3. In the Object Creation dialog box that appears, create the action.

  7. Save the rule.
