Procedure

  1. In the Object Creation dialog box that appears, choose Structure from the Type field.

  2. Enter a name, short description and description for the structure data object and choose Create & Navigate to Object.

    You are directly navigated to the structure data object that you have created.

    Note Note

    If you choose Create button, the structure data object appears under the Assigned Objects tab. Click the name of the created structure object.

  3. Define data binding.

    You can bind the data object to a data dictionary (DDIC) structure or a GDT structure.

    More information: Binding

    1. Choose Current object should be bound in the Binding field.

    2. Select the bind type.

      • Choose Bind a data dictionary(DDIC) structure and in the Bind DDIC structure dialog box that appears, select the DDIC structure and choose Select..

      • Choose Bind a GDT structure and in the Bind GDT structure dialog box that appears, enter the relevant details.

    Note Note

    You can assign elements to the structure only when you choose Current object should be bound in the Binding field.

  4. Define the structure. You can add an existing element or a new element to the structure.

    • Add a New Element

      1. Choose Add New Element.

      2. In the Object Creation dialog box that appears, create an element data object.

    • Add an Existing Element

      1. Choose Add Existing Element.

      2. In the Object Query dialog box that appears, select the element and choose Select.

  5. Save the changes.
