Modeling Entity Service Attributes 

Use

You can model and edit attributes for an entity service with the Attributes tab page. The Attributes view lists the entity service attributes available in the CAS perspective. In this section, you will:

ü        Create new attributes

ü        Create subattributes

ü        Create relations to other services

ü        Delete and edit attributes and their properties

Creating New Attributes

       1.      With the secondary mouse button, click the entity service in the Attributes view and choose Create Attribute. 

The New Attribute wizard opens.

       2.      Enter the attribute name.

The first letter of the attribute must be lowercase and not contain any special characters.

       3.      Select the attribute type.

○     Key 

Is the primary identifier for the entity service. It indicates if the attribute is a custom key.

¡        Complex Attribute 

       4.      Choose Browse to specify the data type.

The Simple Type Selection window opens.

       5.      Choose a data type from the list.

You can only use core, runtime, or currency data types.

       6.      Choose OK and Finish.

An attribute has been created for the entity service and is displayed in the Attributes view.

Creating Subattributes

 

 

       1.      Select the attribute you want to add a subattribute to with the secondary mouse button and choose Create Subattribute.

The New Attribute wizard opens.

The attribute must have been defined as a complex attribute.

       2.      Name the attribute.

The first letter of the attribute must be lowercase and not contain any special characters.

       3.      Choose Browse to specify the data type.

The Simple Type Selection window opens.

       4.      Choose a data type from the list.

       5.      Choose OK and Finish.

A subattribute has been created for the entity service and is displayed in the Attributes view.

Creating Relations to Other Services

 

 

       1.      From the Entity Catalog tree, select the entity service you want to add as a relation.

       2.      Use   with the quick info text Add to add the service to the Attributes tree.

Deleting Attributes

 

 

       1.      Select the attribute you want to delete with the secondary mouse button and choose Delete Attribute.

       2.      Choose OK to confirm deletion.

Editing Attribute Properties

 

 

       1.      Double-click the attribute you want to edit in the Attributes view.

       2.      Click the property you want to edit and select a different value from the drop-down list (if available) or enter a new value or text.

Default attributes created with an entity service cannot be changed.
