Function documentationSAP SNC Monitoring with CCMS

You can use the monitoring architecture of the Computing Center Management System (CCMS) to monitor a system landscape. The CCMS Monitoring Architecture is an SAP NetWeaver framework into which monitoring and administration functions can be added.

SAP delivers the predefined monitor set SNC Monitor Templates for SAP Supply Network Collaboration, with which you can monitor your SAP SNC system landscape. TheSNC Monitor Templates monitor set includes the following monitors:

  • CIF Master Data Queue Monitor

The CIF Master Data Queue Monitor allows you to monitor inbound and outbound queues for the SAP Core Interface (CIF). It displays faulty queue entries in the inbound and outbound queues in CIF.

  • SNC Monitor

The SNC Monitor allows you to monitor inbound and outbound message processing of XML messages. Note You cannot change monitors delivered by SAP. To use a monitor as a template for your own monitor, copy the desired monitor and adapt it to your needs. For more information, see Editing Monitors and Monitor Sets.

Prerequisites

If you run CCMS from a central system to monitor your system landscape, you have set up system connections with your systems. For more information about setting up CCMS, see Configuring the Monitoring Architecture.

You have checked the settings in Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration under Start of the navigation path Basic Settings Next navigation step Processing Inbound and Outbound Messages Next navigation step Restrict Alerts End of the navigation path . You have made sure that the alerts for the message types that you want to monitor are not deactivated.

Features

The SNC Monitor shows if alerts in XML inbound and outbound message processing reach critical thresholds. To do this, the monitor counts the number of alerts of type 1125 for each client of the SAP SNC system and displays the results in a tree structure. The results are assigned a severity, represented by a color. The default values are as follows:

  • If the number of alerts is less than 50, the color of the monitor is green.

  • If the number of alerts is more than 50, the color of the monitor is yellow.

  • If the number of alerts is more than 100, the color of the monitor is red.

In the standard, the SNC Monitor checks every 240 seconds if alerts of type 1125 have been generated.

You can change the default values for severity and the frequency of the check. To do this, in the CCMS Monitor Sets transaction, select the node in the alert monitoring tree whose settings you want to change, and then choose the Properties pushbutton.

Activities

To call up the SNC Monitor Templates monitor set in CCMS, on the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Start of the navigation path Tools Next navigation step CCMS Next navigation step Control/Monitoring Next navigation step CCMS Monitor Sets End of the navigation path. If you want to process the alerts shown in CCMS, start the Web user interface for SAP SNC and use the Alert Monitor for SAP SNC.
