Partner, Location, and Address Determination in the Release

Use

The release details of SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC) contain the following tabs:

Ship-From Location

Customer Location

Ship-To Location

Goods Recipient

For each object, the tabs contain fields for the master data ID in SAP SNC and for the address. SAP SNC automatically determines the data on the tabs from the following sources:

From the DeliveryScheduleNotification that has transferred the release to SAP SNC

From the master data in SAP SNC.

Features

Settings for Address Determination

The addresses in the master data of a location or a business partner can deviate from those in the XML message. In Customizing for Supply Network Collaboration, under Define Address Source, you can define which addresses SAP SNC uses. You can make the setting dependent on the following characteristics:

XML message type

Business partner that sends the XML message

Business partner that receives the XML message

For address determination, you can choose between the following options in Customizing:

If the XML message contains an address for an object, SAP SNC uses this address. Otherwise it uses the address from the object master data in SAP SNC. This is the standard setting.

SAP SNC only uses the address from the SAP SNC master data.

SAP SNC uses the following addresses:

Addresses of the goods recipient and the ship-to location from the XML message

The other addresses from the SAP SNC master data.

Ship-From Locationtab

The ship-from location is the supplier location that is to deliver the products. You can find the following data on the Ship-From Location tab:

Location number of the ship-from location

If the DeliveryScheduleNotification does not contain a ship-from location, SAP SNC determines the ship-from location with the validation check REL_SHIPFROM_LOCATION_MISSING that is active in the standard system. If SAP SNC finds precisely one transportation lane for the combination of customer location, product, scheduling agreement, and scheduling agreement item number from the DeliveryScheduleNotification , the field displays the ship-from location from the transportation lane. Otherwise, the field remains empty.

Ship-from location address

Depending on your settings in Customizing, SAP SNC displays the address from the DeliveryScheduleNotification or from the location master data.

Customer Locationtab

The customer location is the location of the customer who has ordered the product. You can find the following data on the Customer Location tab:

Location number of the customer location from the DeliveryScheduleNotification

The DeliveryScheduleNotification must contain a customer location number.

Customer location address

Depending on your settings in Customizing, SAP SNC displays the address from the DeliveryScheduleNotification or from the location master data.

Ship-To Locationtab

The Ship-To Location tab contains information about the place to which the supplier is to deliver goods. This place is called a "ship-to location". (However, it does not have to be modeled in the master data of SAP SNC as a location). The following cases are possible:

The ship-to location is the customer location

In this case, the Ship-To Location tab displays the same data as the Customer Location tab page (see the information regarding the Customer Location tab).

The ship-to location deviates from the customer location, and the following conditions have been met:

You created a location master in SAP SNC for the ship-to location.

The DeliveryScheduleNotification contains the ID of the ship-to location.

In this case, the Ship-To Location tab displays the ID and the address of the ship-to location. Depending on your Customizing setting for the address source, SAP SNC uses the address from the location master in SAP SNC, or the address from the DeliveryScheduleNotification .

There is only one delivery address for the ship-to location, and the following conditions have been met:

You did not create a location master in SAP SNC for the ship-to location.

The DeliveryScheduleNotification does not contain an ID for the ship-to location, but an address.

In this case, the Ship-To Location tab displays the address of the ship-to location from the DeliveryScheduleNotification (provided that the Customizing setting for the address source permits the use of addresses from the XML message).

Goods Recipienttab

SAP SNC only displays this tab if the supplier is to deliver the products to a business partner other than the Customer business partner. In addition, the following conditions must have been met:

You created a business partner master in SAP SNC for the Goods Recipient .

The DeliveryScheduleNotification contains data that SAP SNC can use to determine a business partner Goods Recipient that differs from the customer. You can do this in the following ways:

The DeliveryScheduleNotification contains the ID of the Goods Recipient business partner.

The DeliveryScheduleNotification contains a ship-to location ID, and the ship-to location is assigned to the Goods Recipient business partner in SAP SNC. (You have thus entered the Goods Recipient business partner in the location master of the ship-to location in SAP SNC). In this case, SAP SNC can determine the business partner ID of the goods recipient using the ship-to location ID from the DeliveryScheduleNotification .

You can find the following data on the Goods Recipient tab:

Business partner number of the goods recipient

Address of the Goods Recipient business partner

Depending on your settings in Customizing, the business partner address is displayed in SAP SNC from the XML message or from the business partner master data.

The Goods Recipient tab is relevant for third-party order processing, for example. In third-party order processing, the customer orders products from the supplier. The supplier does not send the products to the customer, but directly to a customer of the customer.
