Procedure documentationReporting Batches and Batch Usage Manually

When reporting actual data for subcontracting components or finished products that are batch-managed by the customer, you, as a supplier, can report the batches that you actually used (subcontracting component batches) or produced (finished-product batches).

Prerequisites

For the product types for which the reporting of batches is mandatory, the customer has selected the relevant checkbox in work order configuration (Customer Batch for Components, Supplier Batch for Primary Product, or Supplier Batch for Co-Products). For more information, see Master Data for WO Collaboration with Batch-Managed Products.

Procedure

Reporting Batches

If you want to report a phase input for a batch-managed subcontracting component, you choose the batch number in the Customer Batch Number field.

If you want to report a phase output for a finished product, you enter the supplier batch number in the Supplier Batch Number field.

If the primary product has adopted a customer batch number from the purchase order during work order creation, reporting this customer batch number is mandatory. Therefore, you must enter this exact number in the Customer Batch Number field.

Maintaining Batch Characteristics for a Finished-Product Batch

If you want to report the classification (characteristic values) for a batch-classified finished-product batch, click the link in the Classification column.

Note Note

For batch-classified subcontracting components, characteristic values are for display only. The customer maintains the characteristic values in the back-end system and transmits them to SAP Supply Network Collaboration (SAP SNC), for example, in the subcontract order or as part of the batch inventory data.

End of the note.
Reporting Batch Usage

If you report a phase input for a batch-managed subcontracting component that is part of a batch-managed finished product, you can provide batch usage information for the subcontracting component batch. In other words, you specify the finished-product batches that use this subcontracting component batch. To do so, proceed as follows:

  • In the work order worklist, click the link in the Batch Usage column.

The popup displays all finished-product batches of the work order.

  • Select the Is Used By checkbox for all finished-product batches that use the subcontracting component batch under consideration.
