Prerequisites

Activation of the DataSource.

Use

This DataSource is used to extract the detail data of the inbound delivery monitor (Inbound Delivery Monitor) for analysis of inbound deliveries, consistently to a BW system. The system makes the data of the inbound deliveries that are relevant for the inbound delivery monitor, available for every item and delivery status.

Delta Update

A delta update is supported. Delta process: AIED – After-Images with Deletion Indicator via extractor.

An extractor test is possible in delta mode.

Particular Features of the Extractor

The two fields REF_DLV_HDR and REF_DLV_ITM (external code for a reference delivery item) are necessary to handle the splits of inbound deliveries. The following scenario is designed for this: The supplier sends an advanced shipping notification which references three products in three items. Accordingly, the system creates an inbound delivery in SAP R/3 with three items and the status “In Transit”. When the corresponding delivery arrives at the door, it may be the case that only two of the three items are contained in the delivery. The third item could, for example, be missing in the bill of lading, so that the bill of lading and advanced shipping notification contain different data. However, it is expected that the third item will arrive at a later point in time. The goods receipt processor can therefore decide to delete the third item from the existing inbound delivery and create a new inbound delivery for this item. To enable the inbound delivery monitor to follow this third item, the new inbound delivery document must contain a reference to the old document.

Availability date (AVAIL_DATE):

The availability date is calculated from the requested delivery date plus the sum of the standard times of all work steps that follow in the inbound delivery. If the actual processing time for a work step is shorter than the associated standard time, then the availability date is adjusted accordingly. If it takes longer to process a work step than is expected in the standard time, then the availability date remains unchanged. In other words, one expects that the steps following a work step with a shorter processing time will be processed within the time defined in the standard time. With delays, however, one expects that the processing of steps that follow can be sped up, if required.
