Function documentationDetermination of Deviations (Without Tolerances)

If you use the approval process without tolerances for automatic approval, the system detects deviations as follows:

  • Determine deviating confirmation schedule lines

A confirmation schedule line agrees with the request data if a request schedule line exists with the same date/time and the same quantity. A confirmation schedule line deviates from the request data if no request schedule line exists with the same date/time and the same quantity.

  • Determine deviating purchase order items

A purchase order item deviates if the confirmed price deviates from the requested price or original price (depending on your settings in Customizing.) For more information, see Price Confirmation.

  • Determine deviating component requirements

To determine whether a component requirement for a confirmation schedule line deviates from the request data, the system first finds a reference request schedule line for the confirmation schedule line as follows:

    • If a request schedule line exists that matches the confirmation schedule line in terms of quantity and date/time, the system uses this request schedule line as the reference request schedule line.

    • If no request schedule line exists that matches the confirmation schedule line in terms of quantity and date/time, the system uses a request schedule line with the same date/time as the reference request schedule line.

If there is a component requirement in the component list of the reference request schedule line with the same component and component quantity, the component requirement matches the request data. If there is no such component requirement in the component list of the reference request schedule line, the component requirement of the confirmation schedule line deviates from the request data.
