Copying Forecast Profiles
You can copy a forecast profile that you have created for a product or location product, for example, to another product or location product. To do this, you have the following options:
● You can copy forecast profiles using the SPP: Forecast Profile Copy Service (SPP_FCST_PRF_COPY_SRV) Planning Service .
● You can copy forecast profiles manually on the Forecast Profile screen.
You reach the forecast profile screen on the SAP Easy Access screen under Advanced Planning and Optimization → Service Parts Planning (SPP) → Planning → Forecasting.
If you want to copy
forecast profiles using the SPP: Forecast Profile Copy
Service planning service,
you must have scheduled this planning service in the Planning Service Manager
(PSM). For more information, see
Use of the Planning
Service Manager for Service Parts Planning.
You can use the SPP: Forecast Profile Copy Service planning service to copy forecast profiles within one version. In the following table, you can see the copy sources and copy targets, that you can use when copying forecast profiles. The rows contain the copy sources, and the columns contain the copy targets.

You define the copy source in the service profile for the forecast profile copy service.
Here, you can specify the product or location product (optionally with virtual child location or third-party order processing), for which the forecast profile copy service is to copy the forecast profile. If you do not want to copy all parameters of a forecast profile, you can specify an additional copy profile, in which you have chosen the parameters that the forecast profile copy service is to copy. If you specify a semantic (such as a leading indicator or a coefficient), the system always copies the forecast profile of this semantic to the same semantic. If you choose the Number of Uses semantic, for example, the copy target is always the Number of Uses semantic and not the Operation Time or Installed Base semantic.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Advanced Planning and Optimization under Supply Chain Planning → Service Parts Planning (SPP) → Forecasting → Define Forecast Service Profile.
You define the copy target in the process block of the planning profile.
In the Selection Name field, you can specify one of the product selections, location selections or location product selections that you have entered in Customizing under Define Selections. If you specify a location product selection, you can specify in the service profile of the forecast profile copy service whether the system is to also copy to virtual child locations (VCL) of this location or to locations that you deliver to using third-party order processing (TPOP). In the Version field, enter the planning version, in which you want to copy.
For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for SCM Basis under Planning Service Manager → Define Planning Profile and Define Selections.
On the forecast profile screen, you can copy forecast profiles manually. The copy target here is always the forecast profile of location products. The copy source is either the forecast profile of products or of location products.
If you specify a product, product group, or a product group type as the copy target, the system copies the forecast profile of the specified copy source to all location products of this product, product group, or product group type.
You have the following options when manually copying:
● You can specify a copy profile. The system then only copies the parameters that you have specified in the copy profile. For more information about the copy profile, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Advanced Planning and Optimization under Supply Chain Planning → Service Parts Planning (SPP) → Forecasting → Define Forecast Service Profile.
● You can copy changed parameters. For this, you change the desired parameters and save them, and then call the copy function.

You can only copy when you are not in change mode. Therefore if you want to change parameters in a forecast profile, you must save before you can copy this forecast profile.
