Forecast Run
During the forecast run, the system calculates forecast results for each of the selected location products.
You have defined a forecast service profile that contains the forecast service and have specified this service profile in the planning profile of the planning service SPP: Forecast Service (SPP_FCS_SERVICE).
For more
information, see
Use of the Planning
Service Manager in SPP and Planning Services for
Forecasting.
You can either
schedule the forecast run as a regular planning service of the
Planning Service
Manager (PSM) or start it manually from the Interactive Forecasting
screen. You get to the Interactive Forecasting screen on the SAP
Easy Access screen under Advanced Planning and Optimization
→ Service Parts Planning (SPP)
→ Planning → Forecasting.
During the forecast run, the system reads the parameters in the forecast profile at location product level.

If you have not defined a forecast profile for a location product, the forecast run determines a forecast profile using inheritance logic.
Depending on the forecast
strategy that you have selected for the location product, the system uses
the values from the
final demand
history to calculate forecast values for the following key
figures:
● Demand
● Number of order items
● Average demand size per order item
You can display the calculated forecast values on the Interactive Forecasting screen. For more information, see Display Forecast Results.
