Extracting MIC Data
To extract data from the MIC source system, proceed as follows:
...
1. Extract the master data.
2. Extract the transaction data.
3. Activate the master data that has been filled by the flexible update of the transaction data InfoSources.
4. Check the QM status of the ODS objects and the activation of the data in the ODS object.
Authorization profile P_PLAN_ALL must be assigned in the MIC source system to the RFC user who is to perform the extraction (usually ALEREMOTE).
Before the extraction, any legacy data must be deleted (see Deleting MIC Data).
You extract master data by scheduling the InfoPackages delivered in the BI Content. The sequence in which attributes, texts, and hierarchies are uploaded is insignificant; no consistency check is performed.
Proceed as follows:
...
1. In the Administrator Workbench, choose Modeling ® InfoSources.
2. Choose SAP Application Components ® SAP Components ® Corporate Governance ® Management of Internal Controls (0CGV_MIC) ® Master Data: Management of Internal Controls (0CGV_MIC_IO).
3. Choose <Characteristic> ® <Source System> ® <InfoPackage>.
4. Call up the InfoPackage by double-clicking and start the data request on the Schedule tab page.
5. To check the extraction, choose the monitor function. Here, you see the progress of the upload for each InfoPackage.

Note the following special features:
· The InfoObject Start and End Date of Timeframe (0MIC_TF_PER) is not included in any reporting object (for example, a query). Consequently, it is not essential for master data to be supplied from the MIC source system. If, on the other hand, you would like to include the InfoObject in your own content, note the following:
On the Data Selection tab page of the InfoPackage, you find the required entry field TF_YEAR. Specify a value for each individual year, such as 2004, in a separate line. The default value is 9999.
· You can only extract a restricted amount of values with InfoSources 0MICRELESET and 0MICRELESIT. If more than 12 values are defined in the Customizing settings in the OLTP system for attribute Control Relevance (InfoObject 0MICRELEV), extraction with DataSources 0MICRELESET_TEXT and 0MICRELESIT_ATTR fails.
6. Check whether the master data have been completely activated after the extraction has been performed.
Once you have extracted and activated the master data, extract the transaction data. There is no sequence that you need to observe for the extraction.
...
1. In the Administrator Workbench, choose Modeling ® InfoSources.
2. Choose SAP Application Components ® SAP Components ® Corporate Governance ® Management of Internal Controls (0CGV_MIC).
3. Choose < InfoSource > ® <Source System> ® <InfoPackage>.
4. Call up the InfoPackage by double-clicking and start the data request on the Schedule tab page.
5. To check the extraction, choose the monitor function. Here, you see the progress of the upload for each InfoPackage.
The MIC transaction data InfoSources use flexible update, which means that, in some cases, the extraction fills not only ODS objects, but characteristic InfoObjects as well. After extracting the transaction data InfoSources, you have to manually reactivate the master data of these characteristics. This applies especially to characteristics with attributes containing ratings and status information.
Activate the master data of the following InfoObjects after uploading the listed InfoPackages:
· Process Step (0MIC_PS) – after uploading the InfoPackages for InfoSources 0MIC_CASE_PS_1, 0MIC_CASE_PS_2, and 0MIC_CASE_PS_3.
· Management Control (0MIC_MC) – after uploading the InfoPackages for InfoSources 0MIC_CASE_MC_1 and 0MIC_CASE_MC_2.
· Process (0MIC_PROC) – after uploading the InfoPackage for the InfoSource 0MIC_CASE_PROC_1.
· Issue (0MIC_ISSUE) – after uploading the InfoPackage for the InfoSource 0MIC_CASE_ISSUE_1.
· Remediation Plan (0MIC_RMPLAN) – after uploading the InfoPackage for the InfoSource 0MIC_CASE_RMPLAN_1.
To activate the master data, proceed as follows:
...
1. In the Administrator Workbench, choose Modeling ® InfoObject.
2. Choose Financials Management and Controlling ® Corporate Governance ® Management of Internal Controls (0CGV_MIC).
3. Open InfoObject catalog MIC: Characteristics (0CGV_MIC_CHA01).
4. To activate the master data in all relevant characteristics of the catalog, choose Activate Master Data in the context menu of each characteristic.
To simplify the extraction, the settings of the ODS objects delivered for MIC enable you to have the uploaded data activated and the QM status set automatically. Each package that is uploaded into the ODS object automatically sets its quality status to green and activates itself.
Check whether activation has been performed correctly. Where necessary, activate the data manually.
...
1. In the Administrator Workbench, choose Modeling ® InfoProvider.
2. Choose Financials Management & Controlling ® Corporate Governance ® Management of Internal Controls (0CGV_MIC).
A list of all MIC ODS objects (0MIC_DS01 through 0MIC_DS05) appears.
3. In the context menu of an ODS object, choose Manage.
4. On the Requests tab page, check the following settings:
¡ If a yellow traffic light is displayed in the QM Status column, change the QM status by double-clicking the traffic light symbol.
¡ If no symbol is displayed in the Request for Reporting Available column, activate the data in the ODS object as follows:
i. On the Request tab page, select the request in question and choose Activate.
ii. Choose Refresh to display the current status. Once activation has been successful, the missing symbol is then displayed. Update as often as required until the traffic light switches to green. Once it does, the data is completely activated.
