System Administrator 

Technical name: SAP_WP_SYSTEM_ADMIN

Tasks

The NetWeaver system administrator is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the mySAP.com system landscape.

The system administrator’s tasks are:

·        Basis administration

·        User administration

·        Transport management

·        Output management

·        Database administration

·        Administration of user roles, authorization data, and authorization profiles

·        Data archiving administration

Notes on tailoring

The system administrator role (SAP_WP_SYSTEM_ADMIN) contains all functions required within system administration. You can use this role as a template to assign each single role to the relevant system administrator.

Note the following:

·        The target system in some of the single roles in SAP_WP_SYSTEM_ADMIN is BASIS. For these roles, create a copy of the role for each system where the role is to be used. For example, create  a Copy of the Single Role SAP_BC_BATCH_ADMIN for every system in which the administrator is to administer background jobs.

·        Roles for database administrators: Create a copy of these roles for each database type and each system where the role is to be used.

·        The following single roles contain MiniApps:

¡        SAP_WPS_BC_BASIS_ADMIN

¡        SAP_WPS_BC_BATCH_ADMIN

¡        SAP_WPS_BC_CCM_DATA_ARCHIVING

¡        SAP_WPS_BC_DB_ADMIN_ORA

¡        SAP_WPS_BC_SPOOL_ADMIN

These roles run on the Workplace server.
