Use

When you save a PS, the system automatically generates an element group for the elements at a packaging specification level. The element group contains the elements of the PS level. Element groups simplify the maintenance of PS levels: Instead of manually entering the PS elements of a PS level individually in PS maintenance, you can assign an existing element group and thus the elements of this group to the PS level. To do so, you enter the element group in the PS level and choose Assign Element Group .

If the system creates an element group, it automatically assigns a number from the number range for element groups to the element group. You define number range intervals in Customizing for SCM Basis under  Pack Packaging Specifications Define Number Range for Packaging Specification . You define which number range the system uses for element groups under  SCM Basis Pack Packaging Specification Define General Packaging Specification Parameters .
