Mass Transfer and Mass Conversion of Orders

Use

You can use this function at any time in SAP APO to transfer planned orders or purchase requisitions, whose opening dates are in the past

to the SAP R/3 system, or
to the SAP R/3 system, and to immediately automatically convert them into production orders or purchase orders

Using the conversion checks, you can exclude orders from the transfer, if they do not fulfill specific business prerequisites.

Features

Determining the opening date

With mass transfer and mass conversion, you can transfer or convert a planned order or purchase requisition only if the opening date is today’s date, or if the opening date has passed (that is, is in the past). The system calculates the opening date for an order as follows, using the opening period that you have specified in the location product master for the order product.

Purchase order	Delivery date - planned delivery date - opening period The system uses the planned delivery time from the external procurement relationship.

If necessary, you can extend the opening period for transfer or conversion by the required number of calendar days.

Selection criteria

You can select the orders that you want to display, transfer or convert, according to various criteria. For example, you can select orders with the following characteristics:

Only in-house production orders or only external procurement orders

Only orders for specific location products

Only planned orders with the scheduling status scheduled, that is, the planned orders must not have any deallocated operations.

Only orders with the status output firmed

Execution options

You can

Display the selected orders and from the display, transfer and convert individual orders specifically

Transfer the selected order to the SAP R/3 system without subsequent conversion

To do this you can specifically transfer only those orders that have not yet been transferred into the SAP R/3 system.

Transfer the selected orders to the SAP R/3 system and immediately automatically convert them there

For this option, the system sets the conversion indicator for the selected orders (if the conversion check permits), and only transfers the orders for which the conversion indicator has been set.

Transfer time

When executing the option transfer or convert, the SAP APO system does not necessarily transfer the orders immediately to the SAP R/3 system; the SAP APO system only creates transfer events for the selected orders. The actual transfer time depends on the settings you have made for the transfer. You have the following options:

The system transfers the orders immediately after the report is started.
The system collects the transfer events in a table when the report is started. You can then execute the transfer online or in the background at any time.
