Performing a Partial-System Warm Restore (ontape)
Use
This section describes how to perform a
partial-system warm restore of your Informix database if you use
ontape
as your data recovery tool (that is, for your archives and backups).
Prerequisites
You are logged on as user
informix
or
root
.
The database server is online.
Preparing for a Partial-System Warm Restore (ontape).
Procedure
Mount the tape containing the level-0 archive of the dbspaces you want to restore (
psapstab
and
psapprot
in this example) onto the device specified by the
TAPEDEV
parameter in the
ONCONFIG
file. Execute the following command to restore, for example, the dbspaces
psapstab
and
psapprot
:
$ ontape -r -D psapstab psapprot
During the restore, the database server prompts you to mount the tapes with the appropriate dbspaces or logical-log files.
Result
The database is now restored and you can use the R/3 System productively again.
