Managing Feature Restriction PoliciesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Manage a list of feature restriction policies that apply to all applications from a central location.

Context

Feature examples include camera, printer, and push. You can add, allow, restrict, or delete features, and apply changes to existing applications.
Note

You can override the feature template for individual applications.

Procedure

  1. In Management Cockpit, select Start of the navigation path Applications Next navigation step Feature Restriction Policies End of the navigation path.
  2. Under Feature Restriction Policies, view the current status of feature restrictions.
    Column Description
    Plugin A list of feature plugins that are available with the application, such as Camera, Calendar, and Push.
    ID Unique identifier for the plugin.
    Allowed Indicates whether the feature is allowed or restricted.
    • If a feature is enabled, a checkmark appears in the Allowed column. Click the checkmark to disable it.
    • If a feature is restricted an exclamation mark (!) appears in the Allowed column. Click the exclamation mark to enable it.
  3. (Optional) Click Add to add a new feature restriction policy.

    In the Add Feature Restriction Policy window, enter:

    Field Description
    Name A unique feature name.
    Plugin A plugin that is available with the application, such as Camera, Calendar, and Push.

    Plugin Name

    Plugin name.

    Description

    A feature plugin description, such as Cordova Camera Plugin, Cordova Contacts Plugin, and SAP Push Plugin.

    JavaScript Module A comma-separated list of all JavaScript modules used by this plugin. The JavaScript Module value is the JavaScript API that is used to invoke the plugin, and defined in the plugin.xml file.
    ID

    Unique identifier for the plugin. The value comes from the cordova_plugins.js file, which appears in the project after you add a plugin ("pluginId").

    Allowed

    Indicates whether the feature is allowed or restricted. By default, features are allowed.

  4. (Optional) Click a plugin name to edit the feature restriction policy.
  5. (Optional) Select a row and click Delete to delete a feature restriction. You can also select multiple rows, or all rows for deletion.
  6. (Optional) Click Update Apps and select the existing hybrid applications, to apply the new or changed feature restriction policy. Select one or more hybrid app, and click Apply.
