Adding or Updating server-name Registration PropertiesSAP Mobile Server Registration PropertiesLocate this document in the navigation structure

By default SAP Control Center automatically detects and registers clusters and SAP Mobile Server nodes as managed resources. The resource entry named 'localhost' is created for the local server upon installation. However, under certain conditions, you need to manually register new clusters or nodes, or modify existing entries.

Prerequisites

You must manually create a new registration entry when:
  • a cluster or node is not located within your network.
  • a cluster or node is not automatically detected and registered in the SAP Control Center Resource Explorer.
You must manually update an existing registration entry when you modify the management port for the SAP Mobile Server configuration. You must update the resource properties to match the new values.
Note When modifying the hostname of the resource, you need to reauthenticate the resource.

Procedure

  1. Choose your action:
    • To register a new resource, on the SAP Control Center menu, select Start of the navigation path Resource Next navigation step Register End of the navigation path.
    • To update the resource properties, on the SAP Control Center menu, select Start of the navigation path View Next navigation step Select Next navigation step Perspective Resources End of the navigation path view. Then in the Name column, click Start of the navigation path <EntryName> Next navigation step Properties End of the navigation path.
  2. Configure any of these properties, depending on you initial action:
    • the resource name and type
    • a description
    • host name and port of the server

The host name and port must match those configured for the SAP Mobile Server management port.

    • Use Secure Connection - set this property to Yes if using a secure port; set to No if using a non-secure port.
  3. If you changed hostname, reauthenticate the server:
    1. Click Start of the navigation path <EntryName> Next navigation step Clear Authentication End of the navigation path to remove currently validated credentials to the previous host values.
    2. Click Start of the navigation path <EntryName> Next navigation step Authenticate End of the navigation path to reauthenticate with the current host values.
  4. Once authenticated, you can now manage it from SAP Control Center: click Start of the navigation path <EntryName> Next navigation step Manage End of the navigation path to launch the SAP Mobile Platform management console.
