Procedure documentationSetting Up the Landscape Management Infrastructure

To use the landscape management database (LMDB), set it up initially, as follows.

Procedure

  1. Start transaction SOLMAN_SETUP and choose Start of the navigation path Mandatory Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure Preparation Next navigation step Set Up Landscape Management End of the navigation path.

In this step, you define the LMDB object server. Its name, in combination with the CIM namespace, specifies the absolute path of LMDB objects. The object server name should be different in all SLDs and LMDBs. You can always use the server name as object server name in the LMDB. For naming recommendations, see SAP Note 935245Information published on SAP site.

The setup also includes the next essential steps:

  2. Connecting LMDB to System Landscape Directory (SLD)

The main source for system information should be a central SLD, which receives information from SLD data suppliers in the system landscape, and synchronizes with the LMDB.

  3. Synchronizing with SAP Support Portal

SAP Support Portal must be provided with technical system information to find notes or open service connections.
