Procedure documentationScheduling Automatic Tests

You can schedule the execution of automated test cases for several test packages.

You can choose whether to process the test cases in the foreground or in the background. Processing in the foreground allows you to view each step and enter modifications to system defaults manually. Ensure that the execution mode Background is selected only if the tested transactions do not have a user interface.

Prerequisites

The test engineer has assigned a test package to your user.

The test package should not be linked to a test sequence. Because the execution order cannot be managed during scheduling, anyway.

Procedure

  1. In the My Tasks - Tester Worklist application, select a test package that contains automatic test cases.

The test cases that are assigned to the test package, are displayed.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Automatic Test Next navigation step Schedule Execution End of the navigation path .

You go to the Scheduling dialog box.

  3. If you perform a trial execution and you do not want the status of this trial execution to be transferred to the status analysis of the test suite, deselect Copy status in Test Workbench.

  4. If you want to create TBOMs and use the Business Process Change Analyzer application, check Activate TBOM Recording .

  5. To execute the test cases in the background, select Background in the Execution Mode dropdown box.

  6. Define the start trigger: immediately, start date and time, after Job, or after event.

  7. If you check Periodic Job, you have to define the period: hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.

  8. Choose OK to schedule the job.
