The comprehensive analysis of the Scope and Effort Analyzer consists of the following pages, that you can select in the pull-down menu:

Features

Page “Overview”

The page Overview provides you with overview tabs about the following areas:

  • Summary

    This tab provides you with the general result overview of the Scope and Effort Analyzer Analysis. The overview shows the expected development and test efforts for the planned maintenance event.

    Note Note

    Other project efforts required to implement a new SAP software version, such as system administration work, updates of operating system or database versions, dual maintenance efforts and other tasks, are not considered by this analysis. Therefore, the efforts displayed in this summary do not represent the total efforts required for the planned maintenance activity.

  • Modifications/Custom Developments

    This tab provides you with an overview of the impact of the planned maintenance activity to your modifications and custom developments.

    Modifications

    This block shows your modifications grouped by impact categories. For a description of the impact categories and recommended actions refer to the help text on tab Modifications of page Details - Modifications/Custom Developments.

    Custom Developments

    This block shows your custom developments grouped by impact categories. For a description of the impact categories and recommended actions refer to the help text on tab Custom Developments of page Details - Modifications/Custom Developments.

  • Test Management

    This tab provides you with an overview of the test scope and efforts of the planned maintenance activity. With the radio button at the top of the screen you can view the test effort and scope for all impacted processes or limit the view to those executables that contain custom developments and modifications.

  • Updated SAP Objects

    This tab provides you with an overview of the SAP repository objects delivered with the enhancement and/or support packages that you plan to implement.

Page “Details - Modifications/Custom Developments”

Modifications

This tab shows details about the impact of the planned maintenance activity to your modifications. You can view the total list of modifications with the Modification Browser (transaction SE95). In this view only impacted modifications are displayed.

Custom Developments

This tab shows details about the impact of the planned maintenance activity to your custom developments. To view all custom developments you can use Custom Code Management work center in SAP Solution Manager.

Result Overview

This tab provides you with an overview of the test scope and efforts of the planned maintenance activity. With the radio button at the top of the screen you can view the test effort and scope for all impacted processes or limit the view to those executables that contain custom developments and modifications.

Test Scope Optimization Ranking

This tab provides several options to influence the test scope optimization.

Business Process Hierarchy

This tab show the entire Business Blueprint in a hierarchical format with impacted Business Processes and Process Steps highlighted in yellow

Test Case Recommendation

Based on the information available, on this tab the application can make recommendations for creation of missing test cases and exchange of manual with automated test cases.

Average Values for Efforts

On this tab you can view the parameters taken by the Scope and Effort Analyzer for the calculation of development and test efforts. Additionally, you can change the average values used for the adjustment effort calculation. Any changes will affect only the current analysis. Adjustment efforts are re-calculated when saving the changes. Average values for test efforts cannot be changed because this would require a re-run of the complete analysis. If you wish to change the average values for test efforts you have to change the default values maintained on the start screen of the Scope and Effort Analyzer before creating an analysis.
