To enable the user to analyze the root cause of an error, you can assign a tool set containing one or more tools. Tools can be, for example, transactions or help texts. The tool set assigned to monitoring object is provided in the Alert Inbox allowing creation and assignment of guided procedures.

SAP delivered guided procedures are automatically assigned to an alert.

Prerequisites

If you want to provide help texts, you have created an HTML file and stored the file on a server.

Procedure

Example Example

To allow the user to check RFC connections, you assign transaction SM59 as follows:

  1. In the Context Navigation select the solution and the respective logical component or business process step.

  2. Select the monitoring object.

  3. To create a tool set, choose Add and enter a name (for example, enter the name of the transaction).

  4. On the Analysis Tools tab page, do the following:

    1. To create a tool, choose Add and in the Tool Name field, enter a name, for example, the name of a transaction.

    2. Select the executable type. For example, if you want to provide a help text, select URL.

    3. In the Executable Unit field, enter the technical name of a transaction (SM59, for example) or the URL of a help text to be called by the user.

    4. Repeat steps 2 to 4 for all tools to be contained in the tool set.

    5. Save your entries.

  5. Optional: To create an analysis tool set template that you can assign to multiple monitoring objects, do the following:

    1. Choose Set up Business Process Monitoring.

    2. In the Context Navigation, expand the respective solution node.

    3. Under the Cross Functions node, choose the Analysis Tool Set Template node and define a template.

    4. To assign the template to the monitoring object, do the following:

      1. On the Analysis Tool tab page of the monitoring object, assign the analysis tool set template.

      2. Save your entries.

Result

In the Alert Inbox, on the Alert List tab page, a pushbutton is displayed. The name of the pushbutton represents the name of the tool set or the name entered in the Tool Name field (SM59, for example).
