Function documentationRedefining a Landscape

If your system landscape is modified, you can recreate the task list structure based on these changes. There are two use cases:

  • A change control landscape is changed in the solution landscape (transaction SLAN) and the landscape management database (transaction LMDB). For example, a logical component group was added or a system was removed from a logical component group.

  • You want to add or remove systems to / from transport tracks.

    Note Note

When redefining a system landscape, you are not allowed to unselect existing development or production systems in the task list.

Retrofit systems cannot be added or removed in the overview. Edit them in the Retrofit Systems table.

    End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • The change cycle is not in final status.

  • An active task list is assigned to the change cycle.

  • You have sufficient authorization to create a task list.

Features

  • When calling up a change cycle, the system automatically checks whether the assigned change control landscape has changed and whether the change affects the landscape assigned to the cycle. If this is the case, the system displays a warning message.

By default, the following Business Add-Ins (BAdIs) are used to provide a notification to Change Request Management when the solution landscape or the landscape management database are changed. The system determines which cycles are affected by the change. If you want to enhance this system behavior, you can use these BAdIs.

    • BADI_SLANE_ADMIN_NOTIFICATION: Get notification when a logical component group is added/removed to/from a change control landscape

    • BADI_SMUDE_LC_NOTIFICATION: Get notification when a logical component is added/removed to/from a logical component group

    • LMDB_NOTIF_BADI_LC: Get notification when a system is added/removed to/from a logical component

  • You can change the transport tracks in the transport tracks overview and then recreate the task list based on your changed landscape.

Activities

Recreating a Task List Based on a Landscape Change
  1. You call up a change cycle in edit mode in the WebClient UI.

  2. The system automatically checks whether the assigned change control landscape has changed and whether the change affects the change cycle.

  3. If it has changed and affects the cycle, the system displays a warning message, asking you to redefine the landscape.

  4. You choose Start of the navigation path More Next navigation step Redefine Landscape End of the navigation path.

  5. The system automatically regenerates the task list structure, based on the new landscape. Any related urgent change task lists are also updated during this process in the background.

Redefining a Landscape in the WebClient UI
  1. In the change cycle, you choose Start of the navigation path More Next navigation step Redefine Landscape End of the navigation path.

  2. When you switch to the Define Scope phase, the system displays a message and a long text explaining the functions in the transport tracks overview.

  3. You make the required changes, for example, you can add or remove a system in the transport track overview.

  4. Choose Confirm to save your redefined landscape.

  5. The system automatically updates the task list structure and the contents of the Landscape assignment block. Any related urgent change task lists are also updated during this process in the background.
