Transport-related checks include the following checks:

  • Cross-system object lock (CSOL) check

  • Downgrade protection (DGP) check

  • Critical object check

  • ABAP test cockpit (ATC) check

  • Code inspector check

  • Customer-specific check (BAdI implementation)

The checks are performed in a unified way. They are centrally executed and displayed on a unified UI.

Turning On / Off Checks

To turn on or off the various checks, the following information leads you to the correct locations:

  • CSOL and downgrade protection checks can be turned on/off in SAP Solution Manager Configuration (transaction SOLMAN_SETUP)

  • Critical object check can be turned on/off in the Administration Cockpit.

  • ABAP test cockpit check can be turned on/off in the managed system.

  • Code inspector check can be turned on/off in the managed system.

  • Custom-specific checks are under control of the customer's BAdI implementation.

Automatic check

Before releasing transport requests / creating transports of copies (ToC) The following cases are included:

  • You trigger a PPF action that contains a release transport request / create transports of copies (ToC) operation, for example, when passing a normal change or urgent change to test on the WebClient UI.

  • You trigger a PPF action that contains a release transport request / create transports of copies (ToC) operation, for example, when passing a normal change or urgent change to test on the WebClient UI.

  • You release transport requests / create transports of copies from the Transport Management assignment block on the WebClient UI.

  • You release transport requests / create transports of copies from the task list directly in the Administration Cockpit.

  • Downgrade protection check

  • Critical object check

  • ABAP test cockpit check

  • Code inspector check

  • Customer-specific check

Before decoupling / assigning transport requests or reassigning change documents

The following cases are included:

  • You decouple / assign transport requests from the Transport Management assignment block on the WebClient UI or from the task list directly in the Administration Cockpit.

  • You reassign change documents on the WebClient UI.

  • Downgrade protection check

  • Customer-specific check

Before importing transport requests

The following cases are included:

  • You trigger a PPF action that contains an import transport request operation, for example, authorizing a normal change to be preliminarily imported on the WebClient UI.

  • You import transport requests from the task list directly in the Administration Cockpit.

  • Downgrade protection check

  • Customer-specific check

Manually performed static check; it is performed manually from the Transport-Related Checks assignment block on the WebClient UI.
