Object documentationSystem Availability App

There is an app to show the availability of your managed systems. It shows the availability of managed systems during a selected period. You can adjust the availability period and the systems whose availability is shown, in the app configuration.

The data for this app comes from System & Application Monitoring, where system availability can take the following values:

  • Available

  • Not available during a planned downtime

  • Monitoring pause – There are no availability values during planned downtimes of the SAP Solution Managers system.

  • Unplanned downtime

  • No availability information available. Availability undefined

As well as the availability of the individual managed systems, the mean availability value is shown in a pie chart.

Note Note

The role SAP_SM_DASHBOARDS_DISP contains authorization to call dashboards and apps. To be able to call the system availability app, the authorization object Solution Manager Dashboard Instance (technical name SM_DSBINST) in the Dashboard Authorization Group must have the value CIO_TECHOP.

End of the note.

Integration

To display the app, add it to your personal dashboard, in two steps

Add personal dashboard to your SAP Easy Access Favorites

  2. To put the app in the dashboard, go to configuration mode by choosing Configure.

  3. Choose Add New App, in the Operations category, choose the app System Availability, and choose OK.

  4. The configuration mode of the app, in which you can make the following settings, is called (see Configuring Dashboards):

    • You can adjust the default Title of the app to your requirements.

    • You can specify the Period for which the availability values are to be displayed.

    • You can specify the systems for which the availability values are to be displayed. All systems for which availability values are collected are listed under Systems. Select systems and choose Add. When you have moved all required systems into the Selected Systems list, choose Apply System Selection.

      Note Note

If there are too many systems, preselect them under System (you can use wildcards such as *) and choose Get Systems. Only the systems which satisfy these conditions are then listed under Systems.

      End of the note.
  5. Your changes are only permanently saved when you choose Save Dashboard.

Note Note

You can create several System Availability apps which, for example, refer to different periods or managed systems, and are displayed together in the dashboard.

End of the note.
