This procedure specifies the availability of technical components. Work modes planned on a technical scenario or component are applied to a technical instance, but can be applied to a host or a data base depending on your requirements.

Run the transaction sm_workcenter
.
Choose
Select the relevant technical systems and choose IT Calendar
IT Calendar screen appears. Do one of the followings:
Creating Work Mode
Select a date or time range on the calendar, and choose
The Work Mode
screen appears.
Enter the required details in the Schedule
section.
If it is a recurring work mode, select the Recurring checkbox and enter the required details in the Recurring section.
To view the dependents or other components that are affected by this work mode, go to the Technical Components
tab page and expand the technical component. You can view other landscape components that are affected like technical instance, host or database. You can choose to not apply the work mode for them.
Note
The other dependents, like interfaces that are listed in the Other Impacted Components
section, are affected by this work mode.
If you want to schedule work mode for more than one technical component, go to the Technical Components
tab page. You can add more components by selecting them from the dropdown.
Separate work modes are created for each of the technical component.
Deleting Work Mode
If it is a single work mode, click on the work mode and choose the Delete button.
If it is a recurring work mode, do the following:
Click on the work mode and choose the Delete
button.
TheConfirm Delete
screen appears.
Choose the relevant radio button.
Choose OK.
Editing a work mode
Click the work mode and choose Open Work mode.
If it is a single work mode, the Work mode
screen appears. Enter the changes and choose Save
.
If it is a recurring item, the Open Recurring Item
screen appears.
Choose an option and enter the required changes.
Choose Save
.
Note
You can edit the attributes of the work mode depending on its status.
If the work mode is new, you can change all the attributes except for the Work Mode Type
and Recurring Type
.
If the work mode is already in progress, only the End Time
can be changed. It can be extended or shortened.
If the work mode is already completed, none of the attributes can be changed.
Copying Work Mode
Click on the work mode and choose Copy Work mode
If it is a recurring item, the Copy Recurring Item
screen appears.
Choose an option and enter the required changes.
Choose Save
.
Note
You can copy work modes only between technical components of the same type. For example, you can copy a work mode from a component of type system to another component of type system.
